Crumpets (and Bread) - junior
I like crumpets, I eat them a lot, but because Kwik Save had run out of their Simply Crumpets, which are in fact very nice, I had to get Warburton's Crumpets. 57p for 6 crumpets when I could have paid only 19p, and the Warburton's crumpets weren't as good as I thought they should be. They're all mushy inside, even if you try to burn them. I like crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, but Warburton's got it wrong. Kwik Save Simply crumpets manage the crispy softness without having a horrible mushy texture to them, why can't the supposed king of bakers, Warburton's, do it?
I think they also need to spend more time perfecting their bread. Some of it is just crap. They do have some nice bread, but the way they advertised you'd think all of their bread was good. Then again, maybe they advertise a lot because no one buys their bread, because it's rubbish. Hovis Extra Thick is much better than Warburton's Super Toastie, and it's cheaper. It has a much better texture and is just a whole lot nicer to eat.
